Catalon’s career started in his hometown of Albany, New York. He began as a sports director at WVNY in 2001. Unfortunately, WVNY closed down its news department in 2003 due to financial problems. Three months later, he joined WNYT as the weekend sports anchor. Over the next few years, Catalon sharpened his skills and ultimately became the station’s primary sports anchor.

While working at WNYT, Catalon landed freelance chances with NBC. He began by calling curling at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics, showcasing his versatility. He further developed his portfolio by calling tennis at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London and Rio de Janeiro in 2016.

In 2013, Catalon took a significant step forward by joining CBS Sports full-time. He began calling college basketball and football for CBS Sports Network. 2017, he received the big break he was waiting for calling the NFL on CBS.
